Amur Tiger
The Amur tiger, also known as the Siberian tiger, is the largest and most powerful of all tiger species. Native to the forests of eastern Russia and northeastern China, this majestic cat has adapted to one of the harshest climates on Earth.
With a thick, dense coat and a layer of fat beneath its skin, the Amur tiger is built to endure freezing temperatures and deep snow. Its immense territory spans over 500 square miles, which it patrols in search of prey such as deer, wild boar, and even small bears. Unlike other tigers, the Amur tiger is less dependent on water sources, as its diet provides sufficient hydration.
When not hunting, Amur tigers rest in secluded dens or beneath dense foliage. These solitary cats spend their downtime grooming, which keeps their fur warm and free from parasites. In reserves, conservationists work tirelessly to protect their habitats and combat poaching, ensuring the survival of these endangered predators.
